The return of the Sloane Ranger

Last night I was in prime Sloane Ranger territory at the launch of new gastropub The Botanist. Located at 7, Sloane Square, there were floral wrap dresses galore. Even special guest Victoria Hart had shimmied into a peaches and cream floral concoction.

I was with my glamorous music industry friend, Anna, which ensured that we were photographed every five minutes. I kept trying to tell her about my red carpet experience with SJP and then we'd be interrupted by more flashbulbs. Hilarious.

Named in honour of adventurer and naturalist Sir Hans Sloane, the interior is covered in beautiful hand-painted pictures of flora from Sloane's Caribbean explorations. Influences for the food come from far and wide while remaining essentially British at core.

We drank: champagne and cocktails
We ate: not that much as we kept missing the canapés but the menus look great (from handmade linguine, crayfish, garlic and chilli to grilled 35-day aged Aberdeen Angus rib-eye steak, hand cut chips, watercress, red wine jus and béarnaise sauce). Yum.
We listened to: Victoria Hart performing live
We wore: summer black but wished we’d worn florals
