Sex and the City: The Movie poster

When a girl gets the nod to interview not one, but all four of the Sex and the City girls, my first thought? What to wear. At least it should be, and it was, but by Monday morning after a rather heavy weekend and dressing at 6.45am, I simply didn't have the energy to dissect my wardrobe, so opted for a simple black dress and gladiator sandals.

Not a Carrie Bradshaw corsage in sight, I'm sorry to say.

But the SATC girls were so lovely, it really didn't matter what you rocked up in, and, let's face it, it's all about them.

Kim Cattrall was a complete pro. She oozed charm with her Samantha Jones smile, so much so, the two personalities just blurred into one. And, she's age-defying: the girl looked hot.

Dressed in a tailored black suit and fuchsia pink shirt, Kim revealed her favourite SATC movie fashion item was a massive, wide-brimmed straw hat, which she strategically hides behind, whilst spying on a South American adonis called Dante. Yes, times haven't changed that much in SATC world.

When I asked Kim to sign our Happy Birthday Marie Claire message board (look out for it in an upcoming issue), Kim went beyond the call and ordered her make-up artist to reapply her gloss so she could lipstick-print the paper. What a doll.

Cynthia was so much prettier in the flesh - and skinny - in a chic black mini dress and heels. She told me all those toe-curling sex scenes came from real-life experiences - whether it was Michael, the writer, or a member of the crew, every single one has happened to someone, somewhere. Yes, I KNOW.

And the lovely Kristin Davis is Charlotte through and though. Squeaky clean, with perfect, coiffeured hair and gorgeous skin, she wore a high-neck black Moschino dress (with slightly dodgy white stripes running down the bust).

The girls all told me they'd jump at the chance to do a sequel - providing Michael takes the helm again. So, we can all breathe a sigh of relief, the world of SATC lives on.

When Cynthia came into my final interview with Kristin, they hugged and started gushing about each others' dresses. I sat there, thinking my Monday couldn't get much more surreal. Two girls from my favourite-ever show are standing and chatting about their style, and the best bit? They're ACTUALLY friends in real life. Fact.

Look out for video interviews with all the girls on marieclaire.co.uk on 21 May.

Have your say ...
