The pressure's on

Thanks SO much for all your lovely words of congrats and general bigging up after my last blog. I can hardly believe people actually read and enjoy my blog let alone that they would buy my book! (please do though!! I am feeling particularly best friends with the girl who wrote: 'Right, where's the pre-order on Amazon?')

The responsibility is killing me though, I mean Harper Collins invested so much money in me and now you lot are expecting great things, what if I don't deliver! What if it's utter tripe? Oh well, I'll have to retire from writing after my non-hit wonder and go and do a summer season in Margate (I did go to stage school with Posh, you know. Have I ever told you that? Oh yes, I was a Spice Girl wannabe in a previous life..)

Anyway, I have been loving my few days break before the editing process kicks in. The other day I went to my friend's son's 1st birthday party. It was the poshest party I've ever been to for a one-year-old: bubble machines, ball pools, she even had this playpen thing with a cover, like a little cage. Lock your kid up, but make it look like a Wendy House. Genius. Fergus adored it, (he couldn't work out how to open it too, which meant it was an even bigger hit with me.) I have attached a picture of him on his five minute 'exercise' break from the kiddy prison. He's feeling smug about me finishing the book too, as you can see from his face. Yeah right, as if he even gets it! On the day I finished I picked him up from nursery and said, 'Fergus, guess what? Mummy finished her book! What do you think about that?!' Do you know what he said?

'Fine'.
