The global financial crisis, the worst of its kind since the Great Depression, really hit home in September this year with the failure, merger or conservatorship of several large US-based financial firms. Beginning with the downfall of large financial institutions, it evolved into a global crisis resulting in the large reduction in the market value of equities and commodities worldwide. Now, officially in recession, some financial experts say the worst is yet to come with the continuing threat of redundancy and businesses collapsing.
