We probably don't need another reason to love Prince Harry, but it looks like he just gave us another one anyway. While most of us were off at the beach this summer, it turns out Prince Harry was doing something a lot more worthwhile: saving elephants.

The Prince spent three weeks in Malawi over July and August 2015 working on a project to transfer 500 elephants over 200 miles to a wildlife reserve. Led by African Parks, the initiative oversaw the elephants move from Liwonde National Park and Majete Wildlife Reserve to Nkhotakota Wildlife Reserve in order to help them thrive.

Known as 500 Elephants, the initiative was designed to help elephants which are becoming 'increasingly susceptible' to growing human populations.

According to Prince Harry, the elephants 'cannot roam freely like they used to without coming into conflict with communities, or being threatened by poaching and persecution.'

'To allow the coexistence of people and animals, fences are increasingly having to be used to separate the two, and try to keep the peace,' he added.

The answer, he explained was to try and move them in the least invasive way possible from one beautiful place to another – which is how the 500 Elephant initiative was born.

To raise awareness of the project, Prince Harry shared five snaps of his voluntary work last summer, shooting the pictures and writing the captions himself. To get you started, here's one of him helping steady a tranquilized elephant:

As part of his volunteering, Prince Harry met up with Lawrence Munro, one of the rangers he met in South Africa last year.

Proving that he wasn't afraid to get his hands dirty, Prince Harry helped stop a tranquilized elephant from wandering into harms way:

With his snaps, Harry also explained how one of the ways in which transferred herds were kept together was by spray-painting identification on them:

Proving that he's got a fair bit of photographic talent, Harry's final snap was a real stunner:
