Scandal: Poached from our very own screens, Simon Cowell took British sweetheart Cheryl Cole to the big US of A with promises of fame and success as a judge on the American X Factor. But the starlet was sacked before the show even hit TV screens, with the bosses unable to understand her Geordie accent. It's thought a lack of chemistry and confidence with the other judges was also to blame. What followed was an uncomfortable dumping of friendship by Cowell with Ms Cole keeping a low profile for a while.
