In the beginning
Hollywood super-couple Demi and Ashton first hooked up in 2003, after Ashton swept the Ghost star off her feet with a (not so) romantic first date. 'We had In-N-Out Burger,' Ashton recalled. 'It's hard to go wrong with that.' Their 16-year age gap (Ashton was 25, and Demi was 40) instantly set tongues wagging, but the pair defied critics, and insisting the difference was not a problem. 'I'm certainly not the first person to be in a relationship with a younger man,' Demi said, 'but somehow I was plucked out as a bit of a poster girl.' The pair made their first official public appearance at the Charlie's Angels: Full Throttle premiere, bizarrely with Demi's ex-husband and their two children in two.
