Having established his own foundation in 1998 (leonardodicaprio.org) to promote eco awareness, the 33-year-old was a major force behind the recent critically acclaimed environmental documentary, The 11th Hour. Later this year, he’s co-producing Eco-Town, a TV series, telling the story of a Kansas town devastated by a 2007 tornado and set to be rebuilt as a model for green living. DiCaprio continues to be a vociferous champion of social activism: ‘Every time you put money down to pay for something, you’re advocating the way that company does business. If they have a terrible environmental practice, you’re then contributing to that in some way.’
