Eva Jacqueline Longoria Parker is best known for playing the role of Gabrielle Solis in the US series, Desperate Housewives.She grew up on a farm in Texas and for many years tried to break into showbiz – first through modelling and then acting. She finally made her name in America in 2000, when she landed a 2-year part in American soap opera The Young and the Restless.In 2004, her success turned global when she landed her role in Desperate Housewives, catapulting her to A-list status. In 2005 her talent was recognised when she earned a Golden Globe nomination for the popular role. More recently, Eva has branched into film work, appearing in such titles as The Sentinel, Harsh Times and Over Her Dead Body. In 2008, the actress opened a restaurant in Los Angeles called 'Beso' - which means 'kiss' in Spanish. Eva was married to General Hospital actor Tyler Christopher from 2002 - 2004 before tying the knot with basketball player Tony Parker at a lavish ceremony in Paris in 2007. More recently however her and Parker split amidst allegations that he had cheated on her. The divorce was finalised in January 2011.
