Eva Jacqueline Longoria Parker is best known for playing the role of Gabrielle Solis in the US series, Desperate Housewives.
She grew up on a farm in Texas and for many years tried to break into showbiz – first through modelling and then acting. She finally made her name in America in 2000, when she landed a 2-year part in American soap opera The Young and the Restless.
In 2004, her success turned global when she landed her role in Desperate Housewives, catapulting her to A-list status.
In 2005 her talent was recognised when she earned a Golden Globe nomination for the popular role. More recently, Eva has branched into film work.
Eva was married to General Hospital actor Tyler Christopher from 2002 - 2004 and has since married basketball player Tony Parker.
