Kate Bosworth was born in Los Angeles in 1983 but spent most of her childhood in Connecticut. She first caught people's attention with her role in The Horse Whisperer in 1998, but her lead role in 2002's Blue Crush accelerated her to leading lady status. In 2006 she won the role of Lois Lane in the adaptation of the Superman comics, Superman Returns.
She has featured in adverts for Revlon and continually appears as Sexiest Female in magazine listings.
Kate dated actor Orlando Bloom on and off for four years until 2006 and has been since seeing model James Rousseau.
