Naomi was spotted at 15 by a model scout in Covent Garden. This marked the start of her successful career, seeing Naomi grace the cover of TIME magazine as the first black female model.

She has walked the runway for every top fashion designer and famously tumbled over in sky high platform heels at Vivienne Westwood's Anglomania show in 1994.

A successful entrepreneur, Naomi has her own cosmetics range and in 2002 launched her own lifestyle, branding and events company in New York.

She has stringently denied claims of drug addiction and in March 2002 sued The Mirror newspaper for photographs printed of her leaving a Narcotics Anonymous meeting. The High Court ruled the newspaper pay £3,500 in damages saying the pictures were not in the public interest, however an appeal by the newspaper reversed the decision and Naomi was forced to pay the newspaper legal costs of £350,000.

Further troubles came in January 2007 when Naomi pleaded guilty to a charge of reckless assault against her maid, and received a 5-day community service order. Naomi is currently dating Vladimir Doronin, a Russian real estate entrepreneur, and the couple are rumoured to be engaged.
