After graduating from college, Renée moved to Los Angeles, where her acting career began with roles in films like Reality Bites. Her big break came playing Tom Cruise's romantic interest in Jerry Maguire in 1996 and her success continued when she landed the title role in Bridget Jones's Diary, famously gaining 7kg for the role and perfecting her English accent. She has since starred in hit films such as, Chicago - for which she was nominated for a best actress Academy Award - and Cold Mountain, winning a best supporting actress Academy Award. After her relationship with White Stripes frontman Jack White ended, Renée married Kenny Chesney in 2005, but the marriage was annulled after just four months. Renee dated actor Bradley Cooper for two years, ending their relationship in March 2011.
