CC Creams: Reviews, What Are They and Why Do We Need Them?

CC creams are the new skin phenomenon hitting the UK so get clued up and find the one for you.

2012 was the year of the BB cream. Like a reality TV star they went from total obscurity to being the nation's favourite within a matter of months and now even my mum's got her favourite.

But now the new letters on the block in 2013 are the CCs, aka Complexion Correctors.

To be worn on top of your moisturiser, instead of your foundation, CCs are an inspired new approach to base make-up. Rather than cover up the good skin along with the bad, they have a sheer coverage that evens everything out. So any annoying redness, dullness and sallowness is all neutralised.

Throw in a tote bag-full of skin loving vitamins, a selection plumping peptides and a potent radiance-boosting complex and you'll wonder how you ever lived without them. Trust me, I've been using the new one from Erborian for three months now and my old foundation is gathering dust.

Here are our the top three to check out:

Clinique Moisture Surge CC Cream, £28
Blends in seamlessly to give skin a gorgeous hydrated look and comes in six shades that span a wide range of skin tones.

Olay Regenerist CC Cream Complexion Corrector, £24.99
An instant youth hit, this is more like a tinted serum. You know your skin is being taken care of and it really glows.

Erborian CC Crème High definition Radiance Cream, £35
Goes on white but magically adapts to your natural skin colour. No tide lines, no blotchiness and no powder needed. I love this product.
