How are you going to fill the final May bank holiday? We've got plenty of ideas...

The Laurent-Perrier Floral Afternoon Tea at The Dorchester

1) Step into the world of Phileas J Fogg

Has London got room for another hidden bar? When it’s the eccentric Victorian style abode of the legendary ‘around the world in 80 days’ character Mr Phileas J Fogg, then hell, yes. With quirky mismatched antique furniture, audio books in the bathroom and more variations of gin than the Queen could have dreamt up, it’s the capital’s coziest, coolest new cocktail bar. Oh and tweeting @mrfogglondon is like talking to Phileas himself.

2) Celebrate The RHS Chelsea Flower Show

All for the Chelsea Flower Show but don’t want to get your hands dirty? Book yourself in for the Laurent-Perrier Floral Afternoon Tea at The Dorchester. Think red fruit mousses with violet, lavender-scented dark chocolate tartlets and champers served in a cherry-blossom designed glass for the chicest (and most delish) take on flower power. And isn’t that what it’s all about? Hic. Until Sunday 26 May.

3) Go dancing in a field

The annual psychedelic village fete trips back into East London’s Victoria Park on Saturday and (hail, rain or shine) we’re officially embracing summer. So grab your hunters, floral headbands and pint of pear cider and get stuck in. Animal Collective, Bat for Lashes and Django Django are the must sees. Don’t clash… please don’t clash…

4) Have a good laugh

Move over Edinburgh, Stratford-upon-Avon’s our new go-to for comedy. See for yourself this weekend when Comedy Hullabaloo finally opens. We’re excited to see Peep Show’s Isy Suttie but it’s also a great opportunity to check out some new talent.

5) Have a graffiti fest

If you’re not much of an artist (bar that B-grade GCSE) but have the, erm, enthusiasm, then let yourself go at Bristol’s Upfest this weekend. Yep, ‘street art lessons’ join up and coming artists and urban DJs on the line-up – and all proceeds go to The National Association for Children of Alcoholics (NACOA).
