With the ‘no makeup selfies’ dominating our facebook news feeds in aid of Breast Cancer it got us thinking about how powerful beauty can be in raising awareness for some great causes. So if trekking up a mountain or running a marathon isn’t really your thing then try beating cancer with a serum or saving the ocean with your moisturizer instead.

Pairing up with the National Geographic Society for a third consecutive year, proceeds are once again donated to preserving the world’s ocean ecosystems. See if you can hold out until June to replenish your moisturiser!

Charity: Keep A Child Alive
How it helps: It has long been our go-to product for overnight skin repair as the concentrated botanical extracts work deeply into the skin for a fresher more radiant appearance come morning. Now giving us more reason to love it, in partnership with Keep A Child Alive, Kiehls are donating $200,000 to the fight against AIDS.

Charity: Foundation L’Occitane in support of International Woman’s Day
How it helps: With a strong track record in creating beautiful charitable beauty products, it came as little surprise to us that L’Occitane has once again this month launched their Solidarity Soap. The Shea butter ingredient not only gently cleans and softens skin but 100 per cent of the proceeds go to the Women of Burkina Faso who harvest it. With a fair trade agreement in place and funds into entrepreneurship and literacy programs, your investment is as important as it is indulgent.

In a beautiful frosted red, the lipstick adds colour plus texture to the lips for a standout finish. Wear with a fairly neutral base to make lips really pop.
