With winter well and truly here, it's time to up the ante with your fragrance and choose something truly warming. At this time of year, we love perfumes with a little spice. Read on for our favourites…

Lancôme Hypnose, £30, is a subtly oriental scent with passionflower, vanilla and vetiver. One of Lancôme's all-time bestsellers, the unique bottle too makes it extra special.

Designed by the founder of SpaceNK, Nicky Kinnaird (who, let's face it, definitely knows her fragrances), the new SpaceNK Champaca eau de toilette, £18, was inspired by Rajasthan in India. A delectable blend of cardamom, spices, myrrh and amber, we're totally hooked.

If you like the warming spice of ginger, you'll adore Origins Ginger Essence, £24.50. Guaranteed to make you smell good enough to eat, the ginger in this fragrance is balanced with bergamot, lemon and lime.

Another one for ginger fans, Jo Malone Nutmeg & Ginger, £59, was the very first fragrance ever designed by the legendary skincare and scent guru. Originally created as a gift for her first 20 clients, it's a bewitching mix of the two headline top notes, along with sandalwood and cedarwood base notes.

If you like your spices balanced out with floral notes, Givenchy Organza, £32, is the perfect choice. Using honeysuckle and gardenia, alongside nutmeg, amber and iris, it's one of our very favourite winter fragrances, and, thanks to the famous bottle, the one we most like displaying on our dressing table.
