Dolce and Gabbana were all about the skin-tight lace and structured satin, while both Christian Lacroix and Donna Karan showcased a gorgeous array of graceful draping.

For the ultimate in luxury dressing, slip into some velvet to exude a truly demure sensuality. The opulent material is cropping up everywhere - on dresses, tops and playsuits, blazers, bags and even shoes - so depending on how brave you're feeling, you can slip a little or a lot of luxe into your life.

You don't get much more sensuous than the current trend for slinky stockings and saucy suspenders. Spotted on the likes of Katy Perry, Rihanna and Taylor Momsen, the rather risqué underwear-as-outerwear trend is back in a big way. But if hold-ups aren't your thing, then why not try pouring your curves into a figure-hugging basque a la Jean Paul Gaultier, or flaunting a cheeky peek-a-boo flash of bra like the models on the Louis Vuitton runway?
